The adjustable amount of water makes it possible to create expressions ranging from powerful edge effects to the distinctive texture of Asian-ink paintings where ink gradually soaks in Japanese paper.

DryNew

Great for producing a rough appearance. A low amount of water that easily produces kasure (scratchiness).

StandardNew

Great for a smooth appearance with little kasure (scratchiness). A standard amount of water that has moderate nijimi (blurring).

WetNew

Great for producing a pale, fleeting appearance. A large amount of water that easily produces nijimi (blurring).

Natural ink blurring. Blending ink tones.

Effects which were difficult to achieve, such as "nijimi" (bleeding) where colors mix and smooth "bokashi" (blurring), are now available. The drawing engine based on physical simulation reproduces shades ranging from dark, thick ink to light, diluted ink. Try creating subtle artwork that leverages bleeding to create shadowy depictions and light coatings.

Can be used to dilute colors or spread "nijimi" (blurring). Makes it possible to create expressions that gradually spread out like in watercolor paintings by spreading water on the canvas and spilling ink over it.

Absorb water
Expresses a delicate touch different from the eraser when you wish to control the amount of water or need to finely adjust shade. As an example, it can be used to absorb the water from a blue sky to draw white clouds.

The natural drying time can be set to one of three levels.

Fast Dry

Shorten drying time
Reduces the waiting time for drying by speeding up the simulation. The resulting "nijimi" (bleeding) and color mixing are the same as for normal drying.

Instant Dry

Dry as is
Instantly dries the water and stops the simulation. The painting stays as it was at that moment so the result is different from what would be achieved with normal drying.

Enjoyable color ink painting. Charmingly vivid.

You can now use 30 rich colors along with the black ink. Color can be used in all kinds of ways such as color ink paintings, signatures, seals, corrections, accent color, etc. By controlling the amount of water, you can also adjust the mix of colors in your paintings.

3D model that recreates strength and beauty. More brush-like than a real brush.

Strokes change according to the movement of your finger, providing a sensation just like a real ink brush. The drawing system that simulates a 3D model of an East Asian ink brush provides even more varied and natural styles of brush handling than the previous version.

Advanced editing and support functionality. Editing and guides.

Layer functionality was added, providing various editing capabilities. You can now import images, move, rotate, scale or reverse left and right. Furthermore, the improved guide display functionality adds extensive settings ranging from adjustable numbers of characters to divisions and grid display.

Add words to your pictures.
Import a photograph into a layer and paint a message on it.

Draw the line work and the coloring separately.
Add a new layer for coloring under the layer where you drew your lines to do the coloring without messing up the lines.

Add transparency to models or pictures to draw.
You can add transparency to imported images to draw them. This makes it easy to practice penmanship or to draw portraits based on people's pictures.

Combine templates and photos.
You can produce new atmospheres by combining photos with the rich style templates. Imported images are displayed on the drawing area.

You can import photos and images saved on your smartphone or tablet.

Color adjustment effect (layers for drawing excluded).
You can adjust opacity, brightness, contrast and chroma.

Gradation effects.
Add gradation effects to the ink. Gradation can be used to create deeper textures, add metallic effects or use it randomly to enjoy unexpected transformations.

White transparency effect (layers for drawing excluded).
Make white sections transparent.

Guide layer

Character guide
The width and height can each accommodate up to 8 characters. Use it as a guide for penmanship or for adding characters to paintings.

Division guide
Can be set to thirds or fourths. Can be used as a guide when considering how to balance composition.

Grid guide
Can display an infinite grid over the canvas.

Brush handling with even more variation. Wider expressiveness with a stylus.

Supports pressure sensitive styluses. Pleasant drawing sensation thanks to the adjustable brush pressure sensitivity. The tilt sensitivity can also be adjusted for styluses that support tilt. 3D Touch pressure is available for iPhone (6s - XS). The Windows version supports styluses and graphic tablets compatible with Windows Ink.
